Company deanonymization
By purchasing a subscription to Default’s Data Marketplace you have the ability to de-anonymize companies visiting your owned domain(s). When de-anonymized, you will be able to see companies in your Companies page on the left-hand nav bar.
When Default successfully identifies a visitor’s company, you can trigger specialized workflows based on that event. Look for the new Company Identified
trigger in your Default workflow builder—this fires as soon as a company match is made.
Please note that this setup requires the following:
An active subscription to Default Data Marketplace.
Addition of Default’s Sessions.js pixel to your owned domain(s).
All Default customers have access to basic Default Data Marketplace subscriptions which include Apollo & Clearbit.
For additional vendors, please reach out to sales@default.com or message a member of our team in your provided Slack channel.
What is company deanonymization?
Understanding Sessions.js
The Default Intent.js pixel is a small script you add to your site’s <head>
. When someone visits your domain, the script captures their IP address and leverages trusted third‑party services to:
Send IP address + Default visitor UUID for identification
Entrust parter to resolve the IP to a verified company
Enrich a company record with firmographic data
Generate match suggestions ranked by confidence level
Where to install the Intent pixel
To ensure full coverage, add the Sessions.js snippet into your site’s <head>
. This places the pixel on every key page without extra manual effort. Common page types include:
Landing pages
Contact & pricing pages
Documentation
Blog posts & resource hubs
Where can I see the Data?
Identified companies can be seen on the Companies page on the left-hand nav bar in Default. When clicking into a single company, you should see a Sessions
tab containing information like visited pages, frequency, and when a visitor from that company was lat seen on your site.
Configuration
1. Add Sessions.js
Your developers should add this to the <head>
of your website:
<script>!function(_,e){_.__default__=_.__default__||{},_.__default__.team_id=_.__default__.team_id||7;var t=e.createElement("script");t.async=!0,t.src="https://pixel-cdn.default.com/sessions.js",e.head.appendChild(t)}(window,document)</script>
2. Ensure Intent is enabled
Head to Settings > Intent signals and flip the toggle to on. This enables Default to pass your site’s visitor pings through to our verified partners and start company level deanonymization.
How to use deanonymized data in Default
1. Create a new workflow and use the Company identified trigger
Go to Workflows -> Create new -> Select Company identified as your trigger. This trigger is set to run anytime Default is able to de-anonymize a company on your owned domain(s).
2. Add relevant actions
Here are a few ways to put your company level deanonymized data to work:
Alert CRM owner
Alert the relevant CRM owner when one of their accounts is identified on your site. Alerts should be sent via Slack.
Personalized outreach
If a deanonymized company leads to an existing match in your CRM, you can send personalized outreach by matching to a contact and enrolling them in a sequence.
Use Outreach, Salesloft, or Apollo, and enroll the matched contact(s) in a sequence.
Auto-assign unowned accounts
If there’s an un-owned account on your domain —> route to a dedicated round-robin queue.
Create a separate queue just for de-anonymized leads.
Use Default’s AI Prompt (GPT 4o) to determine if this company might be relevant to your ICP.
