Workflows introduction
Workflows act as the automation engine that connects your forms and data inputs to downstream processes across your revenue stack. At a high level, a workflow is triggered by an event, most commonly a form submission, after which Default automatically evaluates conditions, enriches data, and determines the appropriate actions to take. These actions can include routing a lead to the right sales representative, creating or updating CRM objects (in Salesforce or HubSpot), triggering notifications in Slack, or initiating a sequence of additional steps in your connected systems.
Note: Workflow access is restricted to Admins in your Default workspace. Users who are not an admin are not able to view or edit workflows.
Once configured, workflows operate in real time. Default captures incoming data, applies rules you’ve defined (such as matching by territory, company size, or campaign), and pushes structured outcomes into integrated platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Slack. This ensures leads are qualified, routed, and followed up on without manual intervention. You also have full visibility into execution history and can monitor what actions were taken and why.
Ultimately, Default workflows let you do more than just move data around: they orchestrate your go-to-market processes end-to-end. Whether you’re enriching form submissions with third-party data, qualifying based on dynamic criteria, or ensuring meetings are booked instantly, workflows transform static inputs into actionable outcomes. This reduces response time, increases conversion rates, and provides a consistent, repeatable framework for handling customer interactions at scale.
