The Default Pixel is a web script that captures a prospect’s landing URL and associates that data to any future submissions from Default forms (both Default-native forms and connected webforms) through downstream Default workflows. To ensure accurate tracking, install the pixel on all relevant pages under your domain—specifically where Default-facing form fills may occur.

UTM Parameters: Understanding and Configuration

UTM parameters help track the source of conversions, enabling better attribution and performance insights. Default supports UTM tracking across three form configurations:
  1. Default Forms URLs
  2. Imported Custom Forms into Default
  3. Embedded Default Forms

To track lead origin and capture UTM parameters effectively, install the Default Pixel on your website. The pixel stores UTM data from referral sites and ensures this information is passed downstream whenever a visitor submits a form.

What is the Default Pixel? The Default Pixel is a web script that captures the prospect’s landing URL, including UTM parameters like campaign, source, and medium. This data is automatically attached to form submissions. The pixel works with both Default-native forms and connected webforms, making it suitable for diverse lead capture methods.

Where to Install the Default Pixel

To capture URLs and UTMs correctly, install the pixel site-wide in the <head> of every relevant page, including:
  • Landing pages
  • Lead generation pages
  • Contact pages
  • Any other pages with Default-facing forms

Installing the Default Pixel

Step 1: Implementation Steps

  1. Copy the Default Pixel script:
  2. Paste the script within the <head> tag of all relevant pages under your domain.
  3. Ensure the pixel is placed before any form fields to capture UTM parameters from the moment a visitor lands on the page.

Step 2: Test Pixel Install

  1. Submit a Default form or connected webform.
  2. Check if UTM parameters (e.g., utm_campaign, utm_source, utm_medium) are correctly captured in Default by reviewing submission data in your CRM or form analytics.
  3. Confirm that the pixel stores UTM parameters as a cookie to ensure referral data is included in future form submissions.
UTM mapping can be configured via workflows or the platform setup. Pick from one of the options below:

Automatically map fields to any created or updated Salesforce Lead, Salesforce Contact, or HubSpot Contact as part of a Default form submission workflow. Click on the drop down to map fields to UTM Parameters to push into Salesforce or HubSpot on the following records:
  1. Salesforce Lead
  2. Salesforce Contact
  3. HubSpot Contact

UTM Mapping via the Workflow

Any tracked UTM Parameters can also be manually mapped as part of field mapping within a workflow.
  1. Navigate to workflow.
  2. Add or use an existing create or update step on SFDC Lead, SFDC Contact, or HubSpot Contact.
  3. Click on add field to map UTMs.
  4. Select UTMs you would like to map.
